A lot of trash could have been gathered today. It’s not every day that it’s 60°F in January on Cape Cod. But instead of gathering man-made litter we instead stayed in our own backyard and gathered up nature’s litter – defined by the on-line dictionary as “the uppermost layer of the forest floor consisting chiefly of fallen leaves and other decaying organic matter.”
That is to say we raked leaves.
On the way to the bus stop the twins found a rubber band and I picked up the plastic wrapper from a cigarette box.
The boys also found a heard-shaped peace necklace but that ended up belonging to the little girl whose great grandparents live on our street. both my five year olds have a crush on her.
